Help with postnatal depression, anger & motherhood
Motherhood is a time of transition - your body, relationships, identity and role. A transition that literally happens overnight! It’s suggested that up to “1 in 10 women” will experience postnatal depression and the NHS recommends seeking help if you, or someone you know, experiences;
a persistent feeling of sadness and low mood
lack of enjoyment and loss of interest in the wider world
lack of energy and feeling tired all the time
trouble sleeping at night and feeling sleepy during the day
difficulty bonding with your baby
withdrawing from contact with other people
problems concentrating and making decisions
This can sometimes leave you feeling worried about how you’re coping or angry that you feel you’re unable to cope? You might have noticed a shift in your personal relationships - partner, friends or your own mother? They may feel distant to you or you may be more aware of how your parental role models have influenced you in your way of being. We’ll co-create a healthy therapeutic relationship that encourages your to explore motherhood, what it means to you, and also… what it means to be a woman. Often in the bustle of mothering we forget that we’re also women, with our own hopes, dreams and desires. Making space to feel whole again.

The books aren’t compulsory reading by any means. I believe that offering a client information allows them to decide what fits for them… and what doesn’t. Through the therapeutic relationship we’ll discover ways to evolve any existing healthy, coping mechanisms so that you can live a wholehearted and authentic life.
