Psychotherapy, EMDR therapy & clinical supervision
Brighton, BN1, BN2, BN3 & Online
Hi, I’m Jo
A registered and accredited psychotherapist, an EMDR Therapist & clinical supervisor working in private practice. I work both in-person and online.
I help people like you navigate life so you can lead it to the fullest. Through the process of therapy, my clients find relief to their distress, a commitment to life changes and an improvement in overall mental wellbeing.
Counselling is more than talking therapy. It’s a co-created relationship. You may have experience of ‘toxic’ or unhealthy relationships with others – or yourself. Which is why being met in a genuine relationship is the fundamental part of psychotherapy success.
Accepting you for who you are, right now, invites a realness and confidence to explore the parts of you that you might have felt the need to reject.
As a therapist, I recognise the difficulties & complexities experienced in life. I’ve worked with people from all walks of life and with a diversity of human experience. I work from a trauma-informed lens and hold a humanistic stance - incorporating aspects of Gestalt therapy, philosophy, Person-Centred principles and feminist therapy. Which means I believe all individuals have worth and will move towards change when provided with a facilitative relationship. My values of authenticity, growth and creativity inform my practice and way of being with clients.
I offer a 15 minute initial consultation, by phone or video call, so we can ‘meet’ virtually ahead of your first session
Can therapy help?
Yes! Therapy will help in many situations such as:
If you feel anxious or experience panic attacks
Are experiencing depression or feeling low
Process trauma or traumatic events
With self-development, confidence or self-esteem by understanding limiting beliefs and underlying emotional processes
Are experiencing difficulties in your partnership. Facilitating couples or relationships to move into a more authentic, cohesive and communicative space.
There are many personal and unique reasons to enter private therapy so please feel free to contact me to discuss yours.
“My first therapy session ever in my life and I found it very insightful and productive.”
Through the work we do, you’ll begin to:
Understand patterns and parallels in your life/emotions/work
Improve your mental health and emotional literacy
Increase your confidence
Notice changes in your interpersonal relationships
Feel concrete in your sense of self
Know what you want and need (and how to get those needs met)
Have a curiosity about the potentiality of life.
